Highly talented singer and songwriter, Mark Daly released a new single, ‘Without You’ towards the end of April. Scarlett Notes takes a look at what makes this hard-rock ballad a winner.
Bursting onto the music scene as Mark Daly’s third track from his impressive album, ‘When The Stars Align’, ‘Without You’ has been labelled as some of the musician’s best work yet.
Mark Daly has gathered together a successful cluster of musical achievements across his time as a musician, so far. From previously being in ‘The Voodoos’ in 2010, performing at the MTV EMA’s and touring in the US between 2012-2013, to his debut single, ‘The Hearts Reminder’ reigning in 50,000 views via Facebook within the first week of release, Mark Daly clearly thrives within the industry.
Just to propel these industry highlights further, the hard-rock musician completed a 2018 tour of the UK and Ireland and is now ready and raring for yet another, kicking off in June!
‘Without You’ begins with a gentleness. Broken chords sprinkle the instrumentation and Daly’s epic vocals ring true. A ripple of the electric guitar simmers above, echoing the hard-rock element.
As the chorus rises, the emotion trickles with every vocal note, the hurt and heartbreak revealing itself to those who are listening and are in need of a truly cathartic release. Don’t we all?
The drums pull the chorus’ ballad vibe tightly together and you’ll find yourself staring hard in the mirror, carefully and so passionatley singing along to every relatable lyric.
Ending with the last note slowly fading, this new track is the story of the heart with incredibly high standard instrumentation, vocals, songwriting, recording and production.
There is a very bright year ahead for Mark daly with this excellent masterpiece.
